I believe I have a later edition of these classic floorstanders with the round Peerless tweeters, smaller diameter port, and the two pots on the back. Looking at the crossover there is a 2uf ceramic cap and an unmarked electrolytic one between the poisitive terminal and the ceramic cap. There is also a large electrolytic one marked XMC. Does any know for sure what the best replacement caps and values are?

They seem to require registration (which has been disabled) to view the schematics. Any chance there is another way to view them?
Thanks, I saw that but I my crossover has an additional unmarked cap.
Also now sure that the 2uf ceramic needs to be replace like a electrolytic. Might the ESR be different? I have searched the net, but these crossovers still appear to be somewhat of an enigma. I suppose an option is just to leave it alone.
Electrolytics will eventually fail due to their caustic electro-chemical construction (just like a flashlight battery). Before that occurs, measure those parts for capacitance value. If you do not have a meter with such capability & do not wish to procure one, visit a local Auto Sound installer & take a couple six-pacs of beer along to bribe them into measuring for you. If you delay, you will be without the proper replacement value knowledge when they do fail.
Jim,if I were you I'd read all about Rectilinears in that forum.Much interesting info. You will also find the values of the caps in the text, but to make it easier for you,I'll mail the schematics to you later this evening.
