In Reply to: Kutztown Pa radio - Hi-Fi swap meet is 2 weeks from today posted by Al Nico on April 27, 2007 at 06:50:36:
I went last fall and picked up an AR turntable and a RCA Victrola. Both working good.I looked at the stuff in my basement last night and thought there's no way I should be going to Kutztown again. I've got no room left...unless of course, ... dang, I've got this fondness for old receivers (Marantz, Fisher, Sherwood). It's like an itch or Spring fever. Besides, just as I was leaving last time, I saw an old GE tabletop radio from the 50s I'm guessing which is the same model my Mom had in the kitchen when I was in grade school. I'd love to pick that up for nostalgia's sake if it shows up again.
I'm thinking, I'll be there.
Follow Ups:
Thanks, Al ! I almost forgot why all this gear is blocking my walkways. I only wish I had a larger car so I could bring more hifi !
But, fret not, I am bringing lots and lots of hifi !
Concerning our Friday night hifi event, I will bring my pair of little, full range, dual 4 incher, ported KLH speakers, as well as a recently scored pair of 12" Japanese coaxes. Which speakers are you bringing for our Shindig ? Since my little KLHs don't play loud enough, especially outdoors, maybe you have some power handling speakers you could bring along ? That way, we could have THE HiFi Shindig by our tables ! I'm bringing more than a few amps, including some sweet Single Ended and Triode items, as well as some stereo phono preamps, and lots of HiFi tubes. I'll bring at least one hifi tt for our listening, so don't forget some LPs !
This event gets better and better. It rivals any antique radio show, past or present, while bringing HiFi and a HiFi show to the Swap Meet mix. Friday evening's DELICIOUS STEAK Dinner is expected, again. Admission to the show is FREE !!!
We must remind all attendees that the show starts Friday, May 11th.
Come from very far away ! It's worth your while ! C U There !
Rek O Cit TT
The Weathers FM cartridge set up
Fisher console tuner preamp and amp
Big pin tubes
Parts
???
I still have a lot of packing to do.
Approximately 12-15 thousand knobs and related parts for vintage radio/hifi/tv/ham/test gear. Bring along samples of the ones you're lacking for a pontential on-the-spot reunion. Booths 321-323. See you under the Big Top.
