Does anyone know how to wire the amp section to triode? What were your results if you did this mod?

Hi M.P.,The Eico ST-40 was sort of my baptism into tube amp modification. It was my first experiment with triode wiring of output tubes and I've never looked back since then. In mine, I bypassed the preamp section and used it only as a power amp. One day I decided to try triode wiring including eliminating the global feedback. That was one of the few times in my DIY audio life that my wife sat up and asked what I had done. The improvement in detail, naturalness, and soundstaging was really exciting.
here is the url for the EICO user group on yahoo:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/eicoand the one for the EICO page
http://users.rcn.com/fiddler.interport/eico.htmyou should be able to find all the info you want there. Both are great resources for EICO owners.
cheers,

I have the schematic at the house. I'll look it up. Also, I'll post the web site for the EICO page and the yahoo user's EICO group. If you have an ST40 you should really get on the yahoo group. Richard (the moderator) is a really great guy and there is tons of info available there. My (somewhat modified) ST40 sounds great.
