Has anybody come up with a source for these? Like an existing needle-shaped lamp that could be rigged for this purpose? What I need is for an old HK unit (430 receiver), but I expect something from another tuner could be substituted with a little ingenuity. Basically anything that uses about 6 volts AC.
Thanks for any ideas! (I have to think others have wrestled with this.)
(Oh -- HK says they don't have 'em and I should contact Bulbtronics, which doesn't seem to have anything like this.)
Follow Ups:
I have one from a Sherwood S-7200. The Sherwood lost its power transformer so I have been using it for parts. I will never use the pointer so if you need it, your welcome to it.
ESDI, your Sherwood pointer is looking like the best solution -- is there any chance I could still get it from you? Be happy to send you postage and something to mail it in. You can e-mail me -- emersn@nospamsonic.net ; take out the stuff between @ and sonic.
Wow, many thanks for that offer. Funny coincidence, I've got a Sherwood S-7050, fairly similar design -- unfortunately the tuning pointer on this HK is fairly long, and I think the much shorter Sherwood pointer would look a little weird -- extending only partway down into the FM dial. Was that Sherwood of yours cap-coupled? (Mine is.) Just this morning I discovered I still have the box. Bought at a garage sale over 20 years ago along w/ a McDonald TT and some ElectroVoice speakers, for a pittance.
