I have a very cool pair of Pioneer CS 801 speakers with horn tweeter and horn midrange. In my last move, I lost one of the speaker terminal knobs and wonder if there is somewhere I can get a replacement. Any suggestions?
Follow Ups:
If you are handy with hardware, remove the woofers and replace the stock speaker terminal knobs with GP binding posts (for banana plugs) available at your local Radio Shack/The Circuit.
Thanks for the suggestion. I just looked inside to check it out. The terminals are behind the tweeters and are part of a board that contains the electronics for the bass and treble adjustment that these speakers have. The contacts for the terminals are inside the board, so I would not want to risk messing up the board, which would be very difficult to replace. The simplest solution seems to be find a new knob or try to add something on to the short bolt that sticks out for the knob to screw onto.
A local Hardware store will have an assortment of brass knurled nuts & likewise steel wing nuts for about 50-cents to 75-cents each. Discover the thread size by trialing cheaper ordinary hex nuts. That is what I used for my Electro-voice speakers.
