Maybe a Stanton or Pickering if he's right, and the Sumiko Oyster fits his description (simple, cheap, conical, but I don't have compliance on the tip of my finger).I have used the excellent Grace 707, and others might be Formula 4 either Mayware or rarer Sonus version. Those arms do well with high compliance carts, such as Shure V15III and up, ADC XLM MK II, Grace F9e etc.

I got over zealous with the AT recommendation. It's just that good, and I'm a moving coil fan. But it's likely a poor match for the clunky AR arm as it's pretty high compliance.I'd second the Stanton or Pickering. My old "workhorse" standby has been the Stanton 500 for heavier/older arms.
I have been reading about the AT on the Vinyl Asylum. I was thinking of giving it a try. How does it do in low mass arms? I also have an SME 3009 Series II improved with a detachable headshell.
I've only used it on a Technics 1200 with its medium mass arm and KAB damper and it works very well. It's pretty sensetive to VTA but tracks beautifully.
Thanks for the info. I have read that the KAB damper works well.
The Mayware was the arm of choice for the Merrill modiifcations. I beleive it also can be mounted easily. I nerver tried the Sumiko but I think it would work. The 707 works very well with the Shure M97xe.
