Greetings- I've searched most everywhere with no luck, but I find it hard to beleive that there isn't one of these manuals for free download somewhere on the net. Can anyone point me to a source? I just got off the phone with a very nice women from Heathkit (yes, they are still in business) and she could send me a copy of the manual for $25.00 PLUS $7.50 shipping (28 pages). $32.50 seems like an awful lot of money for something that is probably outthere somewhere for free (or at least a reasonable price) Any ideas??? Thanks very much, wpod

It's a lot of work to copy a manual... don't be surprised if nobody wants to do it for free.A.G. Tannebaum and W7FG.com have copies for $20 - you might try eBay as well.
Hi, Tom:I have just offered my assistance in this matter.
This is what this hobby is all about, you know!
Folks in this group have been super kind to me in the past and it is my absolute pleasure to return the favor, when needed.
Hi, wpod:Of course, I have an original assembly manual somewhere in my files.
If nothing else works, contact me outside of this forum.

There is at least part of the manual and a link to the schematic. The important part of the manual is there, ie the test information and troubleshooting.
If this isn't enough for you just spring for the Heathkit manual. It isn't a lot of money considering the value of the 5M
You may try contacting Anumber1 over on the vinyl asylum he has had a Heath W5M for many years. He might know of a source for you.
But it is somewhere in my file cabinet in the shop.I'll take a look but can't guarantee anything. I think the schematic is out there on the 'net somewhere.
The construction manual is pretty large, like 30-40 pages IIRC. $20 is about what I payed for it 20 years ago directly from Heathkit.
