I have recently brought a pair of W-5M's up to snuff and would like to put a in a new quad of output tubes. The GT KT66HP is no longer available and my understanding is that it's replacement is quite inferior.Any suggestions what current KT66 or 6L6GC could survive in this amp?

Thanks for all the input. Any thoughts on the GT-6L6GE or GT-6L6-CHP?
the Svetlana 6L6GC is a surprise tube... a friend let me borrow a used quad and they are tough beasts at 30W plate / 500V plate - it's a tube I could easily live with day-to-day. I used them on my newly rebuilt Dynaco Mark IIIs (!!!) until I got my 6550s in.
I have been using SHUGUANG KT66 in my W5M amps.
I like them.
As a side note, I have made a few changes and thought it was worth while, YMMV.

I have run Valve Art KT66s in my W5Ms for about three years. I retired them when one of the quad dropped 20% in transconductance over three months or so. They still sounded fine. I put about 2500 hrs on them.Another solid choice is the SED 6L6GC. It sounds good in a W5M and takes the current without breaking a sweat. Good tube!

I've heard nice things about the Valve Art KT66s, but never heard them myself.
