Two days ago I replaced the stock 3,3 mF Mundorf/silver/gold with the v-caps.
The Mundorfs are probably one of the best caps any manufacturer put into their speakers.
This was an expensive gamble since I couldn't find anyone on this forum or Audiogon who has ever modded XO with these expensive caps.
I was lucky enough that Chris offered me to put them for 4 days on the cable cooker which acc to him is the same as many hundred hours of normal use so the caps were almost completely burned in.Well at 7.30 pm I finished the installation and couldn't stop listening to jmusic until 7am the next morning and didn't make it to the office. These are so much better than the Mundorfs right from the start it is scary.
With shipping to my area in the far East they costs almost 1K but this is one of the best investments in Audio I've ever made. Highly recommended!
regards
Michael

I find that using a .1uf as bypass across a larger value gives you most of the upgragde that you would get using just the better caps. For instance, a .1uf Dynamicap made a 100uf pile of Sonicaps or Auricaps way, way better.....like it was a different cap altogether and much better....this was on some VMPS planar midranges crossing over around 200hz. So, try really good caps bypassed by a great one! Flavor to taste. Remember to have the polarity of the caps correct (outside foil to ground or output) and damp any cap that is hanging in the air, especially with solid core {especially naked}leads (very bad...having caps ringing in the air!)
The V-cap TFTF .01uf value is a wonderful bypass cap for larger values. Can you tell me what you find is the best damping material for a solid lead dangling bypass cap?
It would be nice to have 2.2uF and 6.8uF TFTF caps for my Tannoy crossover. Even 50V version would be fine...and a price not higher than silver/oil Mundorfs, which are BTW very good caps for crossovers.
I'm sure it could be less expensive if he made the V caps at 100v .
