"I assume you have added this mass to the cone?"Actually, I added the mass to the dust cap but on this particular driver, the dust cap is a hard disc, not the usual dome dust cap.
I had very good results by attaching a Golden Sound Acoustic disc to the dust cap and found that by adding small amounts of mass to the top disc, I could fine tune the drivers speed in relation to the main speakers.
Cheers,

Can you provide more details about the "mass" you are adding? What are you using, and in what quantities and configurations? Would this also work on normal woofers?
"Can you provide more details about the "mass" you are adding? What are you using, and in what quantities and configurations?"Sure. It's 3M Window Weld. This material is dense/non-resonant and sticks like no tomorrow. I mold it into a ball the size of the acoustic disc and stick it to the top disc. One can make a bigger ball if needed for more mass.
On another subwoofer I had, I just molded it into a ring, much like an o-ring, and placed it around the dust cap where the dust cap and the cone were bonded. Be aware that if the cone/dust cap are made of paper, U will most likely destroy the cone/dust cap if U try to remove the Window Weld! On a polymer cone material, it is no problem.
It comes on a roll and is very malleable. U just remove a small portion and shape it where needed and stick. It is great for dampening driver baskets too due to it's non-resonant nature.
I know of one high end speaker manufacturer that uses this material as the seal/gasket between the drivers and the baffle due to it's excellent sealing and dampening properties.
It can be found at most auto parts stores or ordered on-line.
Cheers,
I have some Golden Sounds discs. I will give this a try.
