I came across some cryo'd 10ga romex and am planning on replacing the feed from the breaker box to a dedicated Oyaide SWO-XXX (original version). Before I get in too deep with this project, I thought I'd seek advice from somebody that has used 10ga in conjuntion with the Oyaide's. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere in their literature that the Oyaide's will accept 10ga, but how easily? Any advice? Thanks,

Okay, this project is officially on "the" list of to dos ... along with a bunch of others.
....the Oyaide outlets were designed to accept 10-gauge solid-core, and their clamping mechanism is quite beefy. I personally like inserting the solid-core into the rear openings, rather than making a J loop around the side screw mounts. It's easier, less effort, and quite secure.
I just installed SWO-GX+ Ultimos with 10-gauge wire. I believe the Ultimo upgrade was to the plastic body, so you should have no problem.I suggest a thorough cleaning of the wire before you insert it into the outlet. Kontak works very well.
The Ultimo outlets were upgraded from the previous version in the following ways:1.) Contacts are thicker
2.) Body is larger and thicker
3.) Glass filling in body went from 15% to 30%
4.) The ground strap was made thicker.
