I posted about this a week or so ago on audiocircle. a few of the guys tried corrugated cardboard and said it worked too.Go to the main page and find the post called 'Cheap Tweaks: under $10' www.audiocircle.com
must be somethin in the pulp! If i get a box to cut up soon i'll try, i really dig having cool art on my rack though. :)
after i posted guys came up with all sorts of ideas: reams of copy paper, college textbooks, corrugated and un-corrugated cardboard, posterboard...i think business cards to level my TT was a good one also.
Is this a known tweak? the effects are not subtle. this really is the 1st form of isolation i've used that has only positives, usually there are compromises.
Even bad albums sound great too! i finally found a use for the Tribute to Notorious B.I.G. LP...

Doesn't mean it's not a good idea! You can also use foamcore/balsa sandwiches and the like.
.
Can't feel the bass from it though! =;-)
is it just a piece of corrugated or did you make that??
Thanks!I found it. It was part of the packaging material for a laser printer. It's amazing the good tweaking stuff you'll find around.
I'm forever tapping things, listening and feeling, trying to find the next tweak, you know?
