I have to replace 2 ELNA SILMIC CAPACITORS (25V/100uF) an 1 ELNA CERAFINE CAPACITOR (25V/100uF) in the DAC PSU of my ARCAM CD23T CD player, but due a to the extreme difficulty involved in finding these capacitors, I am thinking in replace these instead with SANYO OS-CON's (20V/100uF), which are readily available in my country.Any advice? I can send the ARCAM CD23T service manual if necessary.

MORE THINGS TO WORRY ABOUT WHEN BUYING USED!
Yes, those Silmic and Cerafine capacitors are very difficult to source now and I think that Rubycon ZA/ZL caps are the best substitutes. They are better than the Os-cons when used in the power supply and even beat them in the digital circuit.
the standard practice is the determine the voltage the caps see and multiply that number by 1.20. That should be the minimum voltage of the replacement cap IMO. Also note the temp rating. Some equipment gets pretty hot and higher temp rated caps are used.
The ELNA SILMICs in question are "seeing" a voltage of 13 V, and serve the function of stabilizing the voltage. For this reason I wonder if I could replace these with *20V* /100 uF OS-CONs.As I said in my original post, I can send the service manual of my player if necessary.
My comments were ment to alleviate potential problems. 20V OS-CON's will be fine.
If 25V Silmics failed, I wouldn't replace them with 20V caps. The best alternative, get Panasonic FC series if you can.
... IF I USE *20 V* RATED CAPACITORS INSTEAD OF *25 V* RATED ONES ?I AM PARTICULARLY WORRIED ABOUT THIS.
Thanks for your reply. Are the PANASONIC FC capacitors really comparable to the ELNA SILMIC /CERAFINE ones ?
yep
