My HT speakers are making my life miserable.Everytime I touch anywhere in the system, including the rack , an awful "thudd" comes out of all the speakers. Even touching the legs of the rack causes it. This seems to be secondary to static electricity as I touch it back immediately, no thudd comes out. 5 minutes later, if I touch- same "thuud"!
"Thudd" also even when I push a button on my remote, "thuud" when I switch it on, "thuud" when I switch it off, "thuud" for no reason while a movie is playing!
What is it, why is it, how do I get rid of it ?
Gurus ? Please!
Thanks

No I did not.The whole system runs on dedicated lines and multiple PS audio Power Plants and after market power cords, all of them have gorund connections.
Thanks
Just as an experiment you may try tying the equipments chassis and rack to earth to see if it is just some static buildup/arcing problem. I doubt it will be ESD though as thuud sounds more like an amp thump than ESD radiated noise which are more like quick bursts of white noise.I gotta say it sounds like a unique and interesting problem and I wish I could mess with it in person.
Thank you.I will try that but I don't understand why pushing a button on the remote should "Thuud" the system !
