A 32" TV is quite a large object in the soundfield. Most advice is that the TV between the main speakers is a bad acoustic reflector, but maybe where you have yours placed it's having a positive effect. That would certainly account for the TV on/off situation, wouldn't it?Try moving your TV elsewhere in your room as far away from your system as possible and see what happens.

The tv is in the NEXT ROOM. Hello read the post. The effect only happens when the TV is plugged in.
This is what you originally posted: "I recently put a 32" tv in the bedroom next to my audio system ..." Isn't that the same room?
My audio system has 113db tractrix horns with 15 woofers and dual 15" Velodynes DDS subs.
Heck I couldn't even dream of fitting them in my living room not even counting the 4amp chassis , cd player turntable and phono stage. No the bedroom is on the other side of the wall next to my sound room. I just assumed that you knew what my system looked like , sometimes I am as bad as my wife. Sorry I looked at the post and realized that it was clear to me and me only. The tv is probably 2 feet away as the crow flies.
