"The Clever Little Clock should not be re-set or adjusted in any way. Machina Dynamica reserves the right to use more than one brand/model to produce Clever Little Clocks, so don't be alarmed if the Clock you receive is not the exact one in the photo. All versions of the Clever Little Clock are sonically equivalent.""For A/B comparisons, i.e., to evaluate the sound without the Clock, place the Clock outside the house structure, for example on the front steps -- but NOT in a drawer, closet, another room, basement or garage OR the family car."
So, this thing will be effective in your home system even when placed in your car, presumably parked somewhere outside the house.
Here's a link so you can read the whole "explanation" of how the thing works.
Follow Ups:
For those afflicted with the dreaded "audio nervosa" who swear they can differentiate the sounds of copper vs. silver, one lacquer finish over another on a wood control knob, or wire raisers, the thought that just any ol' clock that has an orange dot on the face is just as good as any other, is positively laughable. And no, I haven't tried the clock because of yet, there's no been rationale explanation of how such a device would work. And now the disclaimer that any clock is sonically equivalent to any other used by Machina Dynamica. I guess the secret is the orange dot.By the way, whatever happened to the revolutionary "Chip" that was all the rage last year?
is currently getting a new round of attention over on general...and maybe Prophead too. There seem to be many threads on these products in various places around hear.I'm beginning to believe most of the intelligence of the chip, and the cleverness of the clock resides in the amazing amount of free publicity these products receive around AA...

...folks posting to these discussions that I'd like to see benefit from Machina Dynamica products. Just a suggestion, but for a satisfying appetizer, order up a serving of Codename Turquoise. I believe very strongly that you'd be ecstatic over the results.
and have, in fact, bid on the Codename Turquoise twice, and on some of the others tweaks as well. When I can get them at the price I care to spend on them - which has NOT ever been the lowest bid mind you - then perhaps I'll benefit from the Machina Dynamica products.Until then I plan to keep an open mind, and to respect your reports on your experiences with such.

I have no way of knowing what variables might be involved, but if you get the results I received from Codename Turquoise, you are going to be one incredibly happy camper.
