The resource for CD43/53/63/57/67 mods is diyaudio.com and one member has a list of mods and parts swaps for the 67 specifically.Replacing regulators is not one of the first mods to do. They are:
1. Jumper the unneeded DC blocking electrolytics on the output.
2. Jumper the resistors starving the opamps and HDAMs for current.
3. Replace the opamps with sockets and your favorite op amp.
4. Jumper around the HDAMs, its an unnecessary amplifier stage.
5. Replace the power supply diodes with MBR1100 Schottkey's.
6. Upgrade all the power supply electrolytics with your favorites.
7. Now consider upgrading the regulators and adding more transformers. The reason the machine lacks bass and dynamics is mostly due to #2. Items 1 through 5 cost under $15 total.
Follow Ups:
# 3 will add an extra connection in the signal path which will degrade the sound, if anything you what to remove IC sockets to improve the sound. I know having a socket makes it easier to swap IC's but sometimes sockets can cause oscillation in some IC's too!

Ive already done extensive mods on a few of these players a cd63se, cd67 and a cd53:) I was just wondering about the LT regulators as Ive never used them before, I usually stick with standard 78xx or 3xx regs and was wondering if the LT are a step up?
If you can find a older Motorola 7805/7905 would be better than the stock reg. The LT1085 is more quiet than the stock versions and will be an improvement. Just try one and judge for yourself. If the pinout is not the same you can bend the leads to make the proper configuration, it's not that hard. If you're not sure goto the LT website and lookup the datasheet for this Reg.
