Herbies Audio lab seems to be constantly working out new apps for their items. I saw a bonded ERS/grungebuster with adhesive chassis liner, which is new (to me), and a number of other new products/applications.
Nice to see they're not dropping the proverbial elastomeric ball. My impressions of their products have been positive.Just a point out for those of you who haven't been there in a while.

Hello my friend:I have the pleausure of being Herbie's customer since long time ago, owning several tube dampers, interconnect dampers and now the Grunge Buster 2007. My experience with the CD/DVD mat in it's original version was good, but this new version performs much better. Now, regarding to your question about the clearence of your draw, I have the Metronome Signature T20 transport which is also draw load, I have no problems, except very ocasionally with some CDs, but other than that it functions o.k.
I plan to order some damping sheets for better control vibration.

Do you think the 2007 Grungebuster mat would work OK with the Cary CD306 SACD player? It has very little clearance above the CD drawer opening. I'm fearing that it might get stuck inside. Any experience with players such as this?
The original grungebuster CD mat turned me on to Herbie's Audio Lab long ago and I've been hooked ever since. The various vibration control devices do their job in a remarkably uncolored, transparent manner, with a minimally identifiable sonic signature (sometimes an utterly lack of such that's in perfect step with the audiophile motto, "Do no harm", while providing any sonic betterment). The gear tends to be outstanding in the soundstaging and imaging department, with much improved stereo separation often being most notable (with the usual observation of "better detail" of course being another high point). I enjoy the Iso-Cup with Supersonic Hardball and Gabon Ebony Ball footers as well as the Ebony Dome footers when placed under amplification and preamplification, and enjoy the Tenderfoot footers when placed under source components. The Big Fat Black Dot is outstanding for loudspeaker decoupling (slays Blu Tack, Sorbothane, and other compliant pads I've tried). The choice of Herbie's Audio Lab products for vibration control usage is just as important to me as cable choices and AC power delivery gear decisions...
Hearing about the new Grungebuster 2007 CD mat, I recently visited Herbie's site for the first time in several months. Bought tube dampners for KT77 and the ebony domes for beneath my speakers, both of which seemed to add a hint of refinement and clarity to the system. The package arrived very quickly...The BIG improvement, though, came from the 2007 Grungebuster CD mat. It seems much superior to former GB mats, both of which I had used extensively. I used the GB2007 for several days before installing the other tweaks: it is a different beast, much thicker and layered with different materials. It adheres MUCH better than the 2.2 mat and the improved "presence" of the music - more detail and seemingly more coherence in the overall presentation- are VERY noticible.
Herbie is one of those guys that takes a good thing and continues to improve upon it, turning it into a great thing. Nice to see he continues to make advancements for the hobby, and isn't resting on his laurels, or, for that matter, ass.
