I am planning to experiment with the DIY Modified Cubical Quad by Ethan Funk as described in these threads. I assume that this antenna is constructed from bare wire - is that true. Sorry for such a question but I am new to this world of antennas.

Since the smaller loop overlaps the larger loop along half one side & bottom, I'd think insulated wire should be used for construction, else a short occurs negating the two loops. This info was posted by me in the previous threads; read ALL of them for clarity as some confusion arose.
Why wouldn't you just fashion the loops out of the 300 ohm wire itself - thus saving a set of connections - I imagine that I am making myself appear even more ignorant but thanks for your insight.
Do not construct the antenna portion from 300-ohm twin-lead or the doubled-up wires will skew the feed-point impedance match, nullifying the design signal gain. Thus you would need to split the twin-lead down the middle for the antenna portion which results in 2 splice-connections for their ends anyway = nothing to be saved. Be sure to view the 3-D video of the antenna for loop relationship, as poor spatial concepts caused the prior confusion (link to video in previous thread).
