Hi Guys . My Accuphase T100 landed today ! well packaged ,i had to give it a little clean ,nothing serious though. It looks realy retro in the flesh . I had a listen and wow oh my god !! it sounds so good !! lovely soundstage .
Nearly as good as my Vinyl set up and heaps better than i thought radio could ever sound .I listened to BBC R2 Big band playing and have to say its has got some awesome bass .The double bass sounded like it was in my room, this is from a recorded broadcast too so it can only get better with a nice live broadcast.Shame it arrived too late for the proms Broadcast last week.As you can tell im realy pleased Thanx Guys......James
Follow Ups:
Congratulations. I picked one up about a year ago in a local shop for $495 and it's in superb condition. I too can't believe how good it sounds, though here in Boston, MA we only have one or two stations worth listening too as far as sonics and program material. But jazz and blues on WGBH sounds amazing.I find it to be lean, yet extremely musical and with superb, deep and taut bass.
If you think it sounds good now, wait until you hear it in an all Accuphase system!;o)
Hi!The T-100 is really a top notch tuner and what a cool look!!
I wish I could find one!
If your interested....there's a couple of T 101's for sale on Audiogon...
Any one has a T 100 or T 101 give me an email.Would love to have one again I sold mine which I regret.
How is the sound of a Accuphase T 100 in comparison with a mcintosh MR 74// 76
Accuphase T 101 is totally different then the T 100.The T 101 is very light in sound.
In my house they sounded very similar, almost identical. I kept the 100 and sold the 101 even though I've read many places that the 101 may have slightly better fm sound. I wanted both am and fm. BTW, the balance of my system is tubes and horns.
