Sony has a new thing called the ICF-M1000, or "The Radio." It's a black mono am/fm radio with three knobs and a digital display. $150 I believe. Has anybody tried this, and compared it to the competition from Tivoli, Sangean, or Music Hall?
Follow Ups:
Not I but, hit the GW stores for a few weeks and you're bound to come up with more table radios than you can shake a stick at. Even better is that many are tube units and still work great. Also, in abundance are the several models of Sony table radios. They must have sold millions in the same configuration over the years considering how often they show up. Usually the pricing in $10 - $15. I tried the Tivioli 1 and a Granada AM/FM tube radio and while the T was more sensitive the G wiped it out sonically.
Try the Sony SRF 59.It is only about $30.00 and is the best portable
FM tuner around IMHO.
"The Radio" is a table radio and the one you mention is a walkman which requires headphones.
Sorry my mistake
