Hi Fatbottle,Just to tell you that we re-box tubes, we do not re-brand.
Most customers who are not experts, like to see the Tubes and the boxes in perfect condition, as that is what people expect when purchasing NOS = New Old Stock.
We even leave the dust on the collector Tubes.
Why does the seller never put on the date codes of the Tubes?
Ei was founded by Philips, they still have the old machines for making the Tubes.
Today you would think that the Ei Tubes would be as good as the yesteryear production. This is an incorrect assumption as before they would buy the glass from Philips. Today the quality of the glass, I think, is from China. The glass makes alot of difference in the audio market, the microphonics, etc.Nicolas
Follow Ups:
I emailed the seller about the date codes and he said they were 4BH4 didn't say anything else. I was just curious I'm a telefunken lover anyway's pretty hard to put the diamond in a remark job :).
Reboxing is fair , especially if the valves are bulk packed in 'egg-crates' . Im sure that in Hong Kong a certain valve dealer has invested in some printing machinery . Strange , but I've never seen a 'Mullard' for sale with yellow print , maybe he only has white ink . I doubt the seller will provide the date code etches unless you ask . All he does say is these have 'extended highs , etc blah blah blah ' , so he must listen to each tube individual , surely ? Thats a hell of a lot of dodgy ECC83 and others to listen to in anyone's book !
Hi Fatbottle,I have some Mullard 12AU7's that have yellow print on the tubes. They are genuine and I was told that these were OEM tubes and the yellow label identified them for warranty purposes. Same logo, only it's yellow.
yes all the yellow labled mullard are very early production run .
I think atleast to the early 60's. then it will be white printing .
may be after 60's mullards was out of white ink ? hahahahaha .most of the tubes sold from that seller are faked .I even been told by a hong kong buyer .
but Bugleman do have good stock on a new tubes , say early 80's production .the best to avoid is don't buy from him . is that right ?
