Its either fake or its a later production. It should have two vertical bars going up to a metal disc above the upper mica spacer,
then the single rod with the halo. See www.raretubes.com/cca.sh/sh.cca.1.JPG for a comparison and you'll see
what I mean.

Again, I have several Siemans CCa from a reputatable dealer that do not look like what you show. As you say there could be later production. Mine certainly come in very fresh boxes.
The earlier production Seimens and Amperex have this metal disc supported by the upright metal bars below the halo. This is consistent with the description given in Joe's Tube Lore on the FAQ.
It also is consistent with the configuration on a 60's Amperex 7308 I
have . A later production (late 70's) Seimens 7308 I had lacked this metal disc and had just the halo
above the upper mica spacer as the one in the poster's picture has.
I don't think they were fake, though, and they sounded great to me. Some of the tube vendors downplay this tube as being inferior to the earlier production Seimens and being a "Seimens/Rohre" as opposed to
earlier "Seimens/Halske" but that might just be because they don't have either to sell you, I'm not sure. I have a pair of what appear
to be early SH 7308's on order and I guess I'll find out if there is a major difference. In any case, I certainly didn't mean to make you doubt your tubes' genuineness
and if they sound good I bet they're the real deal.
Thanks. Mine are as you describe "later production."
They both *seem* to be real Siemens&Halske . I have both types and my absolute fave are some late '60s that look similar to the ones posted by the original poster.
These are the ones I have. What have you found them best in? I have a Zanden that uses 6922s, but the designer insists that you use his chosen tubes, National 6922s, I think.
These CCa's are the best in my First Sound PD II preamp. Bless you, too!
I have some NOS from a reputable dealer that look identical to your pictures. My lot is 62 043. Yours seems to be 62 something. I think they are real.
If you are looking for early CCa's you might try John at www.raretubes.com. They are expensive but hard to find and my favorite 6DJ8 variant.
Pretty hard to do from a picture. If they're genuine they're a later model (chromed spacer) so not as desireable as the '60's versions. Write the seller for date codes and verification. If the deal's too good to be true, it probably is.
