...or GZ33's . Whatever but they're used too ! Look carefully at the tops of the tubes . Brand new GZ's don't have little brown square darkening , after a few days use these appear after usage . A bit like the 'Mullard' KT88's that have appeared recently .
Follow Ups:
The little dark squares are typical of NOS GZ33's, which is what I believe these are. For sure, they are obviously not U52's, it's very odd that he has Marconi boxes not marked properly. It is possible that these are legit rebranding by Marconi, but still, the seller is aware that these are not real U52's and should not be misrepresenting them. There will be no shortage of bidders going to a high price for these "rareties", though.
Hey-Hey!!!,
As to the seller, this seems to be a no brainer. On those dark spots, I've got a few IDH types that are definately new that show this same bit of getter spot right above the cathodes, it looks like this is what is going on here. I'd not recomend the Bugleman this just seems like another typical auctin for his 'NOS factory' ( that which creates NOS-ness )
regrds,
Douglas
It's not gettering , it's the characteristic darkening that happens with a lot of Mullard Valves with use . Trust me , I've sold dozens of GZ's before . Perhaps someone should pay Mr Bugleman with some $12.01 notes for a change !
