Hi,A 805 is quite useless if it isn't driven with grid current (A2 or equal), and really needs to be used class B2 P-P if it should reach any output power to write home about.
Follow Ups:
We have product a model "Explorer". It work in Class A2. It is driving by a Inter-stage transformer. It can output 45W RMS. It just more than 2 Times of 845. I still say 805 is a good tube but more cheaper than 845 :)
Hi,Yes why not :-)
But grid current is "a must".
But think of two Class B2 push pull... 200W something isn't it?
Zero bias and all, just some old OPT to drive it...The thing with 845 is that it can be driven without grid current, which makes things a bit more easy to get right (it would for me atleast).
mina 2-öre
transmitting triode in 2 Single-Ended triode models (Class A circuit with no coupling capacitors) producing 45 and 55 w/ch in each with only 1 output tube per channel.

Hi,I do believe you, but looking at the tubes curve I can't understand how to get any power out of it without using grid current.
But as you mention the lack of coupling caps it is probably A2 and then fully possible :-)
