I won't pretend to have the last word on this, as others are far more expert. But I do have 2 Fisher Mullard 12ax7's in front of me and they don't look like that.
That thing on top of the upper mica isn't on mine, and the mica "scallops" are a different shape. On each mica, 8 tips touch the glass. Do those have the two 'seams' on the top of the glass? Also, on mine, a total of 4 support rods are copper.Mine are from a Fisher 800C - early 60's.

Thanks for your input, what you describe is what my Mullards look like as well. The tubes in the auction appear to be just a bit too clean looking to me. Now I need to find out if the seller knows what they really are, or if he is just a victim as well. Trying to think of a tactful way to approach this. Any suggestions? Tubemonger, are you out there? Thank you, wpod
1022 on that is the IEC code; IEC was an American importer with legal license rights to the Mullard name in the USA, they could call anything Mullard if they wished. Normally, acid-etched (which cannot be wiped off) production codes must be present to ID actual Mullard plant made. The words Gt Britain at the top on that tube signify the ECC82 as a European (or Mullard) type # (vs the equivalent American type # 12AU7) & do NOT signify country of origin. Likely you did not get scammed nor did the seller purposely mis-represent, but both of you were/are sorely un-informed. Buying @ auction is not wise until you know much more about tubes & what you are actually buying; educate yourself (everything I mentioned above resides in the searchable asylum archives). Or better, buy from Asylum Sponsor tube dealers.
There does appear to be etched (not white print) codes below the lower mica but I cannot make them out in that pic. Entering date code into this forum's Text-to-Find box would discover a Philips, Valvo, Mullard code decipher if you scroll thru the returns.
