but its not a big deal. Output transformer load, currents and voltages otherwise work out the same, so it seems to be a slight difference in mu, a tad too much to be tube variance.
One last question. Is the 6B4 filament centre tapped like a 300B? I ask because I can only use AC heating due to space limitationsThanks
There are only four pins to a 300B. Two are the ends of the filament, the other two are grid and plate. You'd need a fifth pin to CT the filament.You create the virtual CT with the hum pot across the filament. Even with PP, two separate heater TX's, one winding for each filament in combination with a hum pot is enough to get the cathode's hum contribution out of the picture. Most tubes are good enough a simple CT winding can do the trick...but it is no guarantee.
it won't be a concern as long as you are attentive to filament phasing.
