can you really use that tube for anything? My understanding was that it was a "computer tube" with not very well matched halves.
I found two sleeves (12 tubes) of ICC Servicemaster 5965 tubes relabeled by them as 12AT7's. This fraud appears to be deliberate as the 12AT7 ink was carefully placed over the acid etched (GE) 5965 label.
This International Components Corp. fraud is also reported on one dealer's web site.
ICC no longer resells tubes. I sent them a letter anyway, asking them to refund me on the tubes, even though they were purchased years ago. It's the principle. I'm not really concerned with whatever I spent on them.
Follow Ups:
Thanks to Andy Evans, I decided to buy this tube as an input on my Single Power head/pre-amp. It sounded quite good. I could not really hear much difference between it and the 7062.It has a much lower mu than 12AT7, but it's not a lot different electrically.
Where did you get the idea that it was useless? It's a dual triode with decent specs.
I did not know the 5965 had any audio applications. Is it not a sub for the 12AY7 or the AV7?
I'm glad it is usable. I'll save my twelve and maybe I'll use them someday. At least they are of GE manufacture. That's probably a good thing.

I use all these tubes as inputs in an SE OTL pre/headphone amp made by Singelpower. My SP model takes a large number of different input and output tubes, using tube adaptors and variable voltage.
I don't read much about SP products on AA, but they make gorgeous music.
