There are some of these on EbayWhere could a suitable adaptor be found ? Or would it be necessary to perform surgery on my Amp? *Currently running KT-77's in triode*
A search here reveals the Bendix is a Rare tube; the specification ( be warned, it's a PDF file ) links here:

Any advice appreciated!

The 6889 is a ruggedized hard glass 6AR6 with a plate cap - hardly a KT77. You might want to do some research on 6AR6s and the limited audio role they've played (which may just be meaningless cooincidence).
with the extreme rarity of these tubes, meaning not too many hobbiests have used these ( or even seen them ) I've managed to track down a couple of schematics in Japan and while these look a challenge, appear quite do-ableThanks for your post!

Grins,Thats generally true of today but there were a great number of inexpensive 6AR6s available surplus after WWII and there are only a very few examples of audio amps using theses in some of the late 1940s-earl950s magazines such as Radio Engineering News. At that time the 5881 was about to appear, the EL34 really hadn't hit these shores yet, the KT66 was "exotic" and expensive and the 6550 was a dream in some engineers eye. "Consumer" and HiFi audio was centered around small pentodes, such as the 6F6, and small BPTs like the 6L6 with 807s and larger tubes such as 811 being used for higher wattage applications. The 6AR6 fell well within the power and price range of commonly used tubes but for some reason there were very few designs that utilized them - I've got a few of these bottles and did a few searchs for these amps.
So, they may be "rare" now but when they were common for RADAR they were uncommon for audio. Again, may just be some coincidence or perhaps the cheap WWII surplus supply dried up too soon. Or maybe the introduction of the 5881 and 6550 - as well as the availability of European tubes - soon made it seem "foolish" to mess with a 21W plate cap tube designed for other purposes.
But keep plugging - I might want to cobble up an amp with mine in a few years and can always use good examples to copy
.
I've found a few schematics for 6AR6 based Amp and the Bendix 6384; some of the tubehead old guys in Japan have had success with these
Early days yet; I'll post results as these happen; tho' my list of projects is now starting to look like I'll have to achieve immortality to complete everythingThanks again!
I would not let anyone dissuade you from pursuing this do-it-yourself project. I was offered nothing but discouragement about working with the 7757, which is a plate-cap, ruggedized version of the 6094. The 7757 is to the 6094 what the 6889 is to the 6384/6AR6.I am all but certain the 6889 can be (re)applied for audio purposes, and with wonderful results.
for using those Tubes?
Many thanks for your kindness and encouragement; time I tried a DIY
I kind of stumbled into the 7757. I was already using the 6094, and just by luck came across a carton of 50 of 7757. Initially, I had no idea what they were. It took a little research before I concluded I had found something quite unusual, and perfectly well suited for a 'project'. The specs. were quite amazing. The same goes for the 6889. My only gripe is the extra large sized plate cap on the 6889.

the latest issue of the Japanese magazine Tube Kingdom has an article on a 6384 Push-Pull design that's been made as an integrated Amp
