I'm testing a couple Mullard 5AR4's on a Hickok 6000A Mutual Conductance Tester and there's no mutual conductance value on the roll chart, instead it's all dashes "------" (as opposed to an actual value) for plates 1 & 2. Can someone explain what exactly that means and why there isn't an actual numerical suggested value for micromhos? The couple 5AR4's I have test in the "Good" range for both plates, but was just wondering why there isn't an actual value listed on my 6000A.
Thanks!

Dynamic Mutual Transconductance is a measure of the tube's gain. Rectifiers are only tested for emission on a Hickok 6000 series tester.

SIMPLE ANSWER - A RECTIFIER / DIODE HAS NO GRID AND THEREFORE NO GAIN;
HENCE NO Gm SPECIFICATION. YOUR TESTER SIMPLY MEASURES DATA RELATED TO PLATE CURRENT UNDER A SPECIFIC SET OF TEST CONDITIONS AND REPORT GOOD / BAD ON THE METER
Oops, that’s right. Thanks Tubos.
