Joe S :
in your famous 'tube lore' document of 9 or 10 years ago you in your extensive coverage of the 5751 variety ~ made reference to the Sylvania black plate triple mica steel pins as possible being short lived compared to their gold pinned gray plated brothers ...you mentioned you would report back on that later ...I have been unable to find any follow ups
can you tell me what you have discerned ?
thanks Bernard
Follow Ups:
I'm running an old pair of Sylvania black plates in my Aesthetix Calisto right now and they are holding up fine (and sounding magnificent).

is JOE still with us ??
another mystery ...?
I believe Joe is still around. Albert Porter and Joe are good friends. If Joe had passed away Albert would have mentioned it on Agon.
I asked this same question about six months ago and never got an answer. I know there must be others who have used this tube long term. How about an answer from anyone out there.
I don't know if he's still lurking here or not, but he hasn't posted.
