What is the difference in Mullard rectifiers? I have 5AR4/GZ34 Mullard rectifiers and some have 3 hole plates with 4 notches at the seams, while others have almost a saw tooth seam. Any difference in these or which is better? Is there another Mullard that I don't know about that is better yet? Are these just different production runs and all sound simular?
Thanks in advance for your knowledge and help!

Do a search here. I think you have the late production tubes and the old double D getter and the meatal base from the 50's are the best IMHO.
Get a bunch of them and tell us what you think. Tube preference depends on the circuit. Ya get it?
You are correct that the circuit dictates the tube preference. Since these are all Mullards, I have not found in my testing any difference. I was curious if anyone had found any difference in the Mullards. Get it?
