G'day HukkI have tried silver solids and silver stranded. Now my general perception is that that are overly smooth and lacks bite on brass and high hats.
Now I use Kimber teflon insulated copper multi strand. The strands inside the insulation has varying thickness. They are pretty good sounding, but as I do more and more DIY projects, I like them even better, as they are very easy to strip and the insulation does not burn. It also takes solder easily and comes in many colours.

Silver is a big selling point for high end preamps and it's expensive so naturally it must be better. Objectively it is the best conductor. In one of my systems I should warn you the addition of silver anything creates a terrible, thin, harsh, screaming Harpe from h**l sound.
