The secret is out! I'm sure you meant 6GK6 - 6GK5 is a TV tuner triode.Pinout is different, but characteristics are the same as 6BQ5, so it should work perfectly in any 6BQ5 circuit.
The 6GK5 has a 2.5 watt max specified plate dissipation, a fifth that of the 6BQ5. They take that kind of beating?
Nope, not without a few simple modifications. The 6cw5 requires at least twice the negative bias for the same supply voltage.
Pinout is the same. But the 6CW5 / EL86 has much lower voltage ratings, especially for the screen grid. MIGHT work in SOME circuits, would go instantly red in most...
Why bother with reworking your equipment? 2 decent 6BQ5 family tubes are available at affordable prices. The Russian 6p14p-ev/EL84M is a 7189 equivalent. The JJ EL84 sounds somewhat better, but it is not quite as tough.AA sponsor Jim McShane carries both varieties at attractive prices.
