It's a 6DJ8 family tube. Nearest to E188CC/7308,(well, 6DJ8, 6922, 7308, CCa, CV5358 CV4110 etc are the same tube anyway just with different QC techniques, and SUPPOSEDLY slightly different manufacturing techniques...they are the same, tho. 6DJ8 is the "mother" tube) CV4110 is a special "ruggedized" version for the UK military. Rarely seen. Suposedly made at Mullard's Mitcham facility, but others have told me that it is a Tesla, "bottled" and labeled by Mullard Mitchum. I personally don't think it's a Tesla. In any case they are scarce. They are as nice as any Mullard 6DJ8 "family" tube.... if you can get them for reasonable$ it's worth it, but they will not let you see God or anything. As for comparisons, I can only report second-hand that it has the classic Mullard sound; great, textured mids, less "tizzy" than later Amperex, not as transparent as the early Siemens and Halske blue/yellow box CCa/7308/6922/whatever types. Nice tube overall, and this from somebody who has heard them ALL. (My buddy has an Audio Research SP10 and is a FANATIC for frame grid tubes)

"...but others have told me that it is a Tesla, "bottled" and labeled by Mullard Mitchum."We've never seen or heard about this Tesla "bootled" Mullard CV4110.
If a tube has Tesla internals, you should be able to tell right away.
I didn't believe it either, as stated in original post. I think there is a 0% chance this is true; I just mentioned to see if anyone could confirm/deny; you are quite knowledgeable and I consider your answer definitive. Thank You.
Thank you!Actually, I purchased them approx. one year ago (nor for cheap!) and I felt then that they were dark and thin and overly mellow at the same time. Recently, however, I forced myself to try them again and after some burn-in they are quite tolerable.
like these in the link below, which are proper Mullards.Must be due to system synergy that these dont gel in your system.
No, they are quite OK.
