Does anyone have any idea what brand (manufacturer) this 5814A tube might have (see link)? There is a double arrow in red as brand logo and a omegalooking symbol in the center of the pinarrangement underneath. I have three of them and would like to know what it is.
GreetingsAnders
Follow Ups:
Definitely GE. 3-mica, gray plate flavor. A fine sounding tube and a good value for what they tend to sell for even NOS. Earlier ones had horseshoe/D-getters, later ones o-getters. I suspect GE made a bizillion of these. The 3 mica black plate flavor is a bit better sounding to my ears.
Great tube - use it with my Cary CD-308t CD player.
Identical to these. GE also sold tubes with similar markings.
the markings on the tubes you show are clearly General Electric manufacture. It's doubtful Westinghouse ever made a 12AU7 themselves, almost all post-1950 Westinghouse tubes are rebrands.
As to the tubes in the first post - they are clearly not Siemens, I would agree the markings look the same as the ones you picture - so likely GE made, 1950's - not the greatest, but not too shabby either.
should have phrased the last message clearly. Meant to say that here is a picture of Westinghouse label GE tubes. OK tubes but not that great, you are right about that too.
I thank you all for making this clear to me.Thanks
Anders,The photograph is extremely difficult to see, but from the profile, number between the pins, and the arrangement of the triple micas and double getter support, my thought is that you have Siemens 5814a.
If*** so, you have a really excellent 5814A- in my opinion one of the best of the more modern ones. Excellent sound and a premium 10,000 rated tube.
***A clearer photo would help in identification.
Cheers,
This tubes is GE. I have Siemens and is totally different tubes.
