In Reply to: I tought the JAN-CHS were circa 1952! posted by pastito on October 07, 2004 at 06:00:06:
Yes, there is a VERY good version in 1952 with exactly this style construction. But these are not the ones,. those will be designated JAN-CHS-6SN7GT or simply 6SN7GT, but not VT-231 also, as that nomenclature was dropped by 1952.
Follow Ups:
CHS is Sylvania production and CRC is RCA ( I think anyway). regardless, the code is there to show the actual maker...I am sure Ken-Rad has its won, as well as T-S and such...

Douglas

Beware the man who behaves deceitfully towards others, for there is nothing else to save you from his deceiving you
Every tube manufacturer who supplied the military tubes had their own manufacturing JAN codes. Ken Rad is CKR and Tung Sol is CTL.
A few more JAN codes:CHY - Hytron
CKR - KenRad
CNU - National Union
CRP - Raytheon
CRC - RCA
CHS - Sylvania
CTL - Tung SolCheers,
Richard (or others),Do you know the story behind Sylvania made JAN-CHS versus JAN-JHS designated mil tubes?
