I have the phillips 6X5WGT in my Audionote 3.1x sig DAC. I have read in the archives and else where that the Bendix 5852 is good replacement for the 6x5.Would there any kind hum or extra heat, anything that I need to consider before I make the purchase. Your opinion's please.

I currently have the DAC 4.1x and used to have the 3.1x. I have used the Bendix in both and it was great. It is recommended by Peter at Audio Note. They are difficult to find though.

Think I got the answer.
Re: Bendix 5852forget the bendix,,5852 it's no good
a lot of money, but no show!!!
i have tested them, they are no good, but if want to pay
then you WILL pay,,
go for the TungSol 6x4 rect.
I tried one for a short while, and it was very good. I just didn't feel comfortable using it. They are built very well to boot.

The 5852 draws more heater current than the 6X5. It may or may not work depending on your gear.
