Hello ,
This is not entirely correct . Although there may be other companies called Brimar , the original Brimar company which was part of STC/AEI/ITT eventually became swallowed up by the Thorn-EMI group in the late 1970's . Thorn-EMI still produce valves and tubes for medical research at a factory in Ruislip , West London . Originally Brimar operated this factory and produced gas-filled tubes . The Brimar trademark is still used today by a few UK suppliers who have manufactured dubious looking printing plates (namely Billington Export) so you could actually say 'Brimars' are still being producedcheers
Actually, if you really want to see the current remnants of the Brimar tube operation, it eventually went to a new company which has a website at http://www.brimar-ltd.com/ - if you were to look at their site, there is actually a vacuum tube (9 pin miniature) shown on the site, if you were to contact them, you would find that they are still capable of producing vacuum tubes, including audio, but only on special order in very large quantity and at prohibitive prices. They are still listed in general B2B directories in the UK as being, among other things, a producer of industrial and audio valves.
Hello ,
I don't see it . The link provided is for a display company . Like I said , Brimar was taken over by Thorn-EMI whose manufacturing arm is 'Electron Tubes' who are still producing industrial and medical types .cheers
