Hi,
I have heard there is a new company who has obtained the rights
to the Dynakit TM with plans to release a number of vintage tube
based kits such as the ST-70, MKIV and ST-35.
Picked up this info at a recent Audio electronics show in NYC.
Does Anyone have any more info on this ?
I would be interested in purchasing a new kit version Stereo 35
as opposed to buying something on Ebay.

let's see, re-issue/copy outputs are $110 per pair from a sponsor. Power Iron would be ~$70 for a much hevier item for a stereo amp. Put a vacuum rectifier system in, and some real Iron in the PS, along with oil caps and you're off to the races for less than a St.35 would cost on ebay. And, you'd get to design or chose your own front end...
Just a FYI, the little Z565's are not all that briliant of an output TX, though it may cost a bit to improve them in the 'of the rack' room. There has got to be a better 9k:8R with 25% U-L taps...maybe a bit more than 25% for starters...and a little bigger core.
just stuff to think about.

at very low frequencies is a bit higher than I'd like, but the overall
distortion figures and the primary inductance...over 1000 henries at
60 Hz..are really good. The trick is the Dynaco winding arrangement,
that's why the Z565 has less distortion at 30 Hz @ 17.5 watts than
the bigger Hammond 1650F (rated at 25 watts!).I've had every Dynaco other than the MkVI, the ST35 is still my
favorite, provided the speakers used with it are fairly efficient. We've got our transformer guy working on a 9K version of
the A470, if you just gotta have 10 Hz response at 17 watts.
BTW, the original Z565 was 8K. But 9K would work just fine, too.
I modified a Dynaco Stereo 35. I installed a choke for the lowly resistor in-between electroyltic sections. Next, AuriCap capacitors. Additionally, some quality resistors. Best preamp tubes were Mullard 7247s. The only 6BQ5/EL84 that sounded good was GE grey oval plate 6BQ5.Before the mods- yuk. After the mods, an acceptable amp that was a bit edgy sounding. Nothing to get excited about, however nice looking little amp.
what you are saying about that op transformer is not what I have heard everyone else say. Also, I don't think it's got a 9K primary.
it is what I have found. It is also allegedly got its U-L taps at 25%. Note that all the published stuff that the gang wrote said tha 43% was the perfect spot, yet none of the OPT's they wound were like that. Going by the John Atwood measurement anyway, and that's what he said about its actual parameters. The little amp I built with my SCA35 guts sounds really good, go ask the SE John's from NJ. The Dynaco stuff sounds aceptable, which was the goal, reasonable cost and not limiting to the design until you were truly exceptional.
Just because nobody else said it does not make it any less true, IMO. There are a lot of things which can be fit under that heading. Don't want to say it because______. just fill in the blank. see what I mean?
