I would be willing to audition Parabees for a six pack of Pilsner Urquell. That might last four hours, but probably not.

I wasn't holding the Parabees as a paragon of unequalled excellence. I meant that $1600 gets you "pretty damn good" in the rarefied 8 WPC universe, and that someone trying to sell some funky salvage amps for $80,000 (no pix, weird details, no feedback on the site)has some serious cojones trying to charge ANYTHING for an audition, let alone $250. Yes, yes, I know that the Fantasia-spec system could be considered salvage, along with any Western Elec. etc. These submarine amps could be treasures.... but they could also be boatanchors in the most literal sense of the term.... 2nd best to a small block chevy for keeping something moored.
Somebody out there thinks my amps aren't the paragon of unequalled excellence?! OK, so maybe I would settle for a Heineken bomber, but you only get about 45 min.
I guess we are having a disconnect type misunderstanding-- I think the Parabees are Phenomenal amps. They are great and are better than many amps costing TEN TIMES as much. I thought you were saying that they sucked! Please pardon my miscommunication. I envy your amps and would love to own a pair.
ought to be good for more than a few mins....
