I can't remember exactly, I'm just recalling what I saw in the drugstores when I was a kid. It also depended on what was the latest greatest and so on. 9-pins were more expensive than small-signal octals when they first were used, but cheaper later on.For some reason, a seven year old kid paid attention to this stuff. Sprocketheads, sigh. All sorts of stores (auto parts places) had a machine by the front door somewhere, and I was fascinated with 'em. I would take out culls from the bin underneath and test away while my dad was doing what dads do.
