I purchased two pairs of what I thought to be Svetlana EL34's a couple months ago from a local music store. They came in the familiar red, black and white box. The tubes are marked with a silver 'S' logo, are printed with "Svetlana Electron Devices, INC" "EL34" and "Made in Russia." They also have a 0209 date code. When calling internet suppliers today for another quad of the same tube, I was informed that these are probably not the St. Petersburg Svetlana EL34 tubes that are so highly regarded. Apparently, the ones I have are being made and marketed by another company that won a legal dispute over the name/trademark.
I'm not really sure if what I have are St. Petersburg Svetlana's or not. I was replacing a pair of old Svet EL34's with these and I really didn't notice much difference. The basic character of the tube was the same, and I dismissed the differences between them as age/use (the new ones sound better defined on top).
Regardless, I would like to get another quad of the same tube. From what I've gathered so far the "old" Svetlana tubes are now "SED" with flying 'C' and these "other" tubes are now Svetlana with 'S' logo. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find anyone that carries the silver 'S' logo type!!! The music store where I purchased these have been telling me for two months that another quad is coming in, but they have yet to materialize.
Any help greatly appreciated in identifying what I have, and where I might purchase 4 more.

Do your EL34's look like this, with the brown base?

or like this?
http://store6.yimg.com/I/triodeel_1755_760909If they look like the first example, they're the ones made
in St Petersburg, no matter what logo is on the tube.
They look like the first example with the brown base with the following differences. The getter is fastened to two copper rods vice one, and the plate seams are not smooth but have slots.
I have some 2000 -2001 production stock of the tubes you want, drop me a note if I can help.
