i like nice lush tubey sound, which one of these tubes would suit me better???????? and what do you think is the better tube and why?????

But of course that is just my opinion. If you really want lush and tubey you are probably best served considering a SET. Perhaps a 300B amp?If you must go with push pull take a look at the 47 amp. Last but not least many are satisfied with 6BQ5, EL84, or 6V6 amps but again I wouldn't go so far as to say lush. But some oil type coupling caps might get you close enough.

Perhaps that has changed. N.O.S. has more appeal to me than new.I happen to have a small stockpile of N.O.S. 7591,(Sylvania, R.C.A.,Fisher, Radio Shack), which is good, because I do not know what to make, of the new 7591. Some members claim that they draw too much heater current, and may over-tax the transformer. Also,some versions are, for certain, of the wrong dimensions, for certain applications.
The 7591 is not a very tubey sounding audio tube. You want 'lush, tubey sound'? Look at the Dynaco 70. Too tubey for my tastes.
I didn't know that the 7868 and 7591 are the same tube. Guess that I don't know everything, after all.
Find me a 6V6GT amp, with more than just two of these tubes per channel. What a wonderful audio tube. That would be Hi-Fi Heaven.
My intention was merely to point out that there is a new production alternative to NOS 7591's whereas there is not one for 7868's. I was not endorsing the new production version. However, it does work well in my Ampeg Gemini I guitar amp which does not have a dimensional problem to use the new production version. And no, they do not draw more heater current or tax the power transformer any more than an NOS version. However, in some applications the larger glass envelope is indeed a problem. At 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of NOS versions, they are a bargain if you can use them. Too bad you can't do the same with a 7868.

Same tube, different basing. Either version are good. Limited in the number of options for rolling. I would go personally with the 7591 because of new production versions from EH(be careful of size restrictions as the EH versions are bigger than NOS).
