In Joe's Tube Lore, the Siemens 5751 is described as sterile and not worth pursuing.I'm not sure, however, if this is the same tube as Siemens-Halske 5751 (3-mica).
Has anyone got any experience with this tube? Opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I have quite a few of these and they are very good. My opinion is similar to Aldovan's. I don't feel that they're superior to the more "premium" Sylvanias, RCAs, Tung Sols, or GEs, which to my ears in my system are all very good/excellent.I think the best advice I can offer here is to find some and give them a try. I don't see the Siemens/Amperex 5751 very often. I got all mine from folks in Europe. Give'em a try.
Thanks, Aldovan and tvr!How would you describe the sound? Is it bright/forward, or the mellow kind?
I have ordered a pair from a tube dealer here in Norway, so I'll give my opinion - dependent as it is on gear, taste, etc - when I've tried them.
How would I describe the sound of the Siemens 5751s? Pretty much as Joe describes them in his Tube Lore. More forward and cooler. I find Siemens tubes in general to sound this way. To my ears in my systems Siemens tubes are very clean sounding tending towards the analytical side.Sometimes a tube's character is just the ticket to getting the right synergy with other gear. This is happening right now for me. I'm listening to triple mica Siemens E82CC/6189s in the linestage of my CJ PV-12A. This tube is working out very well with rest of what I've got hooked up. I've also had combinations of gear where the same Siemens in the same preamp gave me a cold, lifeless balance I didn't prefer. This is an example the bane and boon of tube tube rolling. Sometimes it can be a bit like chasing your tail. These Siemens 5751s may fit well with what your system needs to satsify your ears. Just have to plug'em in and see.
I'd be interested in getting some more Siemens 5751s. If you don't mind dropping me an email, I'd like to know where you got yours, if they've got any more and how much they cost.
Let me know how the Siemens work for you.

I have some Siemens 5751 3 mica in my house and I make tests in my amplifier. The sound is smooth in my amplifier. It is very quality tubes, in my case I have the "PQ" (premium quality).
In my opinion, the equipament can change the sound results.
For my equipament, the best tubes are the RCA 5751 3 mica black plates, Sylvania 5751 3 mica black plates, GE 5751 3 mica black plates and after Siemens 5751.The Raytheon and Tungsol is very good, too. I use this 5751 in a audio amplifier, not guitar.
The RCA 5751 is the best, because have a exceptional frequency balance. The GE have more bass in my amplifier.
I recommend for you: to buy some used 5751 black plates 3 mica in e-bay and test it. If you like the sound, them you can sale a more expensive NOS. It is my opinion, only.
It is a good tube, but the RCA and Sylvania is best...
(this is my opinion)
