Sure the web is great.. but a laptop doesn't really fit in with sitting down with a glass of red and listening to some records!I used to love it when the mail came with Glass Audio.. is there anything else dedicated to tubes I can subscribe too?
Follow Ups:
It was The Word for ultimate DIY guys. Articles by J.C. Morrison, Don Garber, Gordo, Buddha Camille, effing Hiroyasu Kondo!I beg Unca Joe just about monthly to crank that rag up again. He laughs.
Sigh,
I think AudioXpress has more for the beginner and intermediate DIYer whereas SP was aimed at the more advanced DIYer. Complementary rather than competitive.
got me into DIY instead of just recapping vintage gear
and there was some maniac talking about skinny wire, and air as the best dielectric, and chokes in power supplies, and the horribleness of caps and RCAs . . .Sounds like a chapter from my current Handbook.
Aloha,
But if Joe doesn't want to start it up again, why not a consortium? But isn't what Bas is doing pretty much the same?
.
Try John Broskie's Tube Cad Journal. Very good stuff!

Also would recommend AudioXpress. Then there is printing out articles from Tubecad.com and reading them while sitting down. I love this blog!
Of course you could also get a palm or blackberry device for reading as well.
Technology is suppose to allow for more choices, not less..
Although Glass Audio is no more, its "successor" AudioXpress probably has as much tube related stuff over a year's time as GA, if not more - it's just spread out over 12 issues instead of 4 to 6. If you've been around long enough, The Audio Amateur spawned GA and Speaker Builder, then they merged again as AudioXpress. Same publisher, Ed Dell. I've subscribed to them all for longer than I would like to admit. I assume the reason for the merger is the economics of publishing three separate subspecialty magazines versus one.
... audioXpress is still a personal favorite. In fact, besides professional journals, I think it's the only magazine I subscribe to any more!
all the best,
mrh
