Guitar players using Les Paul's do about anything to get those caps, the Gibson Historics produced now have a sad copy of BB's in them, those paticular guitars are $2500.00 min to $20,000 & they are not the real deal. real ones go for,..the 58's, etc. for a cool $250,000 to a half Mil....

Hi: You are correct, the 1958/59/60 Les Pauls sell for astronomical prices, but it's not because of the caps, it's the rarity. Only about 1700 were made in the three year period. Those caps would probably be OK for low voltage tone control applications, but would be leaky in high voltage applications, as another inmate posted.
Yes indeed. reply was directed @ HOK, because I thought since he had such a huge stash of them & not wanting to use then in tube gear, that many Les Paul owners would love to have such a thing to use in the guitars. My 58 Gibson Historic has mock BB's & are not real. Trivial I suppose, but guitar players & crazy , fanatical tone freaks, that are even worse than most on AA. I have heard a un-official sell of a real 58 for over 500k, almost double the official record. Very cool...
Alright, I was thinking about getting a few for coupling caps but I am glad I asked the question. Thanks.
