Exactly and I didnt see this to be a problem..There was a phono preamp my friend bruce was telling me about that used the k40s and the k72 teflon and it was really a nice preamp..I have 60 of .1 teflons left and I want to pull the case off a couple like lovetube did.
Follow Ups:
A Fluke 87 is at the limit of its resolution but it indicates around 30pf lead to case for a K40Y9, much less than I thought. It might suspend the internal cap away from the shell like the Teflons. BTW, the latter open up nice and easy with a standard plumber's pipe cutter.

Thanks rdf
and who knows because stray capacitance can from most anywhere but Im glad you measured it..I was going to do that but since you did no reason to.
actually it would be better for all of us if you did measure it to see how close your numbers are to RDF's.One sample does not a fact make :-)
Yes please! The Fluke was at the bottom of its resolution scale so - 00.03 on the display - so while I'm comfortable it was the best measurement possible with the tool at hand, the tool was still a stone knife.
