Has anyone compared the 20b tubes from Eml directly to the rs241 - do they have similar audio qualities ?Thanks

SLM,I have not tried the EML, but with the AVVT I can say it was a very modern sounding tube as compared to the RS series.
I made several amplifiers with both. I prefer the RS over the AVVT version but getting the tubes is a bit rough.
Power wise I was able to get about the same power using my reactor follower direct drive circuit. I think there are pics of the RS series amp up on my news page.
I can't exactly answer your question, but I have compared the AVVT AV20 to the RS242 [V1 position only].
The above tubes had a similar sound - the RS242 had a better sense of nuance and delicacy, with especially nice high frequencies; while the AV20 provided a larger soundstage, with better bass.
The AV20 also came across as the more powerful of the two.
