Jarthel,
20 AWG ratings
Single wire - 5.7 Amps max
Bundled Wires (less than 6 wires in bundle) - 3.99 Amps max
Bundled Wires (more than 6 wires in bundle) - 3.42 Amps max
These figures are from aircraft wiring standards. So yes - go for it.
Follow Ups:
Just a thought, but aircraft spend most of their powered time travelling fast through cold air. Or are those figures valid for sitting on the ground for hours?
These figures cover all occasions - The undefloor areas of aircraft can get really hot. Inverters, Transformer Recitifier units,Inertial Navigation Systems, Control Electronics etc all have to have 70 degrees C operation capability and the wire specs are 100 degree C derated values.
Cheers,
Ian
I surely hope they put in enough of a safety margin to account for global warming :-)
I'd be more concerned about cold flow. That wire is certain to cause shorts in a few thousand years.
